Upper Hutt

Upper Hutt is 30 km north-east of Wellington, centred on the upper valley of the Hutt River. The Hutt Valley widens to a 2.5 km wide floodplain between the Rimutaka and Akatarawa Ranges before narrowing 9 km further downstream at the Taita Gorge, which separates Upper Hutt from Lower Hutt.
